A reminder that people who have more friends or are more popular are in no way at all better than you. Some people are just more social than others and that is neither a good or bad thing. Some people just have lower standards when it comes to friends. Some people have had better luck with meeting people, because of things like where they live or what groups they’re a part of. Some people don’t carry the trauma that you do that makes it hard for you to socialize or trust people. Whatever it is, there’s usually a reason, and more friends does not equal better or more worthy person.

there’s something real to be said about how society tends to be particularly dismissive of women’s interests and things that are more popular with women, but there’s also something to be said about how people will frame all criticisms of a particular interest as misogyny if it’s a thing Some Women Like, even when we’re talking about deeply exploitative industries
‘you can’t criticize makeup culture because makeup is mostly worn by women, just say you hate women and want to dismiss their interests’ ‘you can’t criticize the modern western astrology culture, you just hate women’ ‘oh, you think the twilight books are racist and romanticize abuse? funny how people only say that about women’s interests’
